Toni Nagy and Seraphina Supernova in a “Grape Culture” sketch.

To call “Grape Culture” a Fringe show on tour would diminish its impact. Yes, the show did originate at Hollywood Fringe, do a run in Edinburgh and sell out its Off-Broadway run last spring. But: Wow, it’s so much more. In this multiact show, Toni Nagy and Seraphina Supernova interrogate the ways society sexualizes and exploits women – rape culture. This doesn’t, on its face, feel like a topic inviting dance, film, storytelling, stand-up or skits. But just as TikTok forces users to find creative ways to talk about discouraged topics (including rape, which users refer to as “grape” to avoid removal and bans), they realized these conversations need the whimsy their show embraces. “We are not going to change ‘grape’ culture through rational dialogue,” they say, and instead “alchemize our stories through the magic of artistic play.” It’s for people who’ve felt the pain of “grape culture” or are ripe for a better understanding.

“Grape Culture” at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at The Rockwell, 255 Elm St., Davis Square, Somerville. $15 to $20, and suggested for audiences 18-plus.
