Police are on the scene Thursday for a fallen light pole in Cambridge’s Central Square.

A light pole fell onto an occupied car at around 2 p.m. Thursday at Carl Barron Plaza in Cambridge’s Central Square. No one was injured.

The pole at Massachusetts and Western avenues fell when a piece of construction equipment hit the light pole, witnesses said. Cambridge police, firefighters, ProEMS and city electricians all responded to evaluate the accident.

Massachusetts Avenue was closed while the pole was removed and repaired, police spokesperson Robert Reardon said Friday.
