As a major nor’easter hit Greater Boston, city buildings and schools closed and many businesses did not open. City services were affected and the Cambridge City Council and School Committee canceled a joint meeting to discuss its fiscal year 2027 budget.

Power outages in Cambridge and Somerville were not widespread as of 11 a.m. The Eversource power outages map showed outages due to equipment failures were affecting small numbers of people in Cambridge and Somerville. There were two outages affecting less than five people each in Avon Hill and one affecting less than five people near Davis Square.
