The Ruby Reds won their third straight Cambridge Girls Softball League championship, defeating the Alleycats 6-4.

The Ruby Reds started the playoffs by handily beating the Lightning. Maya Macias and Tali Epstein-Santoyo each belted three hits and scored three runs, while Saige Surette doubled and drove home Lexi Murphy.

In its second-round game, the Ruby Reds trailed the Tigers 4-0 with two outs in the bottom of the fifth and runners on first and second. Up to the plate stepped Vera Lopez-Ferreria and she provided the spark the Ruby Reds needed, blasting a three-run-homer and knocking in Ru Epstein-Santoyo and Nora Rejman. The next batter was Macias, who singled. She came home on a double by Lili Shabry-Lichter to tie the score 4-4. In the bottom of the sixth Tali Epstein-Santoyo doubled and came all the way home on a throwing error, giving the Ruby Reds a 5-4 win.

In the championship game the Ruby Reds faced the Alley Cats, the only team to beat them during the regular season. The Alley Cats had also defeated the Tigers and Lightning to get to the final.

Alley Cat pitcher Ramona Reding and Reds pitchers Lucy Diamond and Tali Epstein-Santoyo kept it scoreless through two innings. Then, in the bottom of the third, the Ruby Reds took a 2-0 lead on a home run by Maddy Truesdale and an RBI single by Nia Calioro. But the Alley Cats came roaring back, scoring three in the top half of the fourth to take the lead. Noa Moulton tripled and scored on a Nellie Santos single.ย  After Delilah Maia singled, Nessa Soloway doubled home both Santos and Maia to go up 3-2. In the bottom half of the inning, though, the Ruby Reds got RBI singles by Macias, Tali Epstein-Santoyo, Diamond and Murphy to go ahead 6-3. The Alley Cats scored a run in the top of the sixth when Jordan Benton singled and Reding belted the first pitch into center field for a double. But Reding was tagged out trying to advance to third, ending the game with a final score of 6-4.
