Last week’s nor’easter wreaked havoc with the sports schedule. For instance, the football game, which could not be played due to an issue with the lighting at the field, could not be made up because of the conditions and will go down as a no-contest. And the cross country teams were rained out. But the soccer teams had games prior to the storm.

Boys’ soccer: A goal from Mathias Asnake was all the Cambridge Rindge and Latin’s boys’ soccer team (2-0-3) needed to defeat Wellesley on Sept. 22. Elias Hyland assisted on the goal in the Falcons’ 1-0 win.

Girls’ soccer: The girls’ soccer team (3-4) lost to Wayland, 2-1, on Sept. 23. Helena Demissie scored the Falcons’ goal in the fifth minute, with Cailin Beckman providing the assist. Wayland evened the score in the 28th minute and took the lead for good early in the second half.

This story was updated to correct an editing error that misstated the reason for the football game’s cancellation. It also noted that the storm is why the game will not be replayed.
