Firefighter hopefuls have plenty of time to prepare for the next civil service exam, Democratic state Rep. Alice K. Wolf said. The entry-level test is April 24, and the deadline to apply is March 16.

Applications are done online at mass.gov/civilservice, but interested people can also call Wolf’s office at  (617) 722-2810. Click here for information about the process and requirenents.

A $100 application fee may be waived for people getting certain state and federal public assistance, unemployment insurance or workers compensation, Wolf said. For information, call the Human Resources Division at (617) 878-9895 or download the form here.
