Residents are invited to the 2010 Go Green Awards to be held May 25, said Randi Mail, director of recycling for the city’s Department of Public Works.

There will be a chance to chat with experts who can help businesses and institutions save money, go greener and enhance their image, and Julia Wolfe, of waste management company Save That Stuff, will speak at the awards, which celebrate business and institutional leaders who have acted to create a more sustainable city, Mail said.

Save That Stuff is described as helping more than 3,000 businesses and institutions collect recyclables, vegetable oil and other recoverable materials.

Grendel’s Den Restaurant & Bar, a Harvard Square landmark, is to provide refreshments.

The 2010 Go Green Awards will be held May 25 at the City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway, Cambridge, starting with a 5:30 p.m. reception. The event is scheduled to end at 7 p.m. Mail asks that attendees RSVP by calling (617) 349-4604 or sending e-mail to [email protected].
