Cambridge-Somerville for Change holds its spring public meeting tonight, saying:

Without a doubt, these are challenging times — the struggle for democracy in North Africa and the Middle East, the impending nuclear disaster in Japan and a recent union defeat in Wisconsin. Progressive values in our community, state and country are under attack by Big Money, and there seems to be no end in sight.

Unless we do something about it, starting in our own communities, starting now.

Activists and interested community members are invited to the 6:30 p.m. meeting at the Cambridge YMCA, where they can learn what the group has done in the past year and decide plans for this year by forming brainstorming groups and talking with group members.

“Want to find out how to give Scott Brown the boot in 2012? This is the meeting for you,” organizers say in a press release. “Want to get more organized and energized around protecting progressive issues? This is the conversation for you.”

The YMCA is in Central Square at 820 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge.
