I respect all of the current Cambridge city councillors as individuals, and count several of them as friends, but this year, I’m voting for change. The current Cambridge City Council session has been a failure. The council failed to have a transparent, inclusive zoning and development process. The council failed to have a professional selection process to choose a new city manager. These were egregious, avoidable mistakes.

Luckily, voters have excellent alternatives to choose from. The Clean Slate of Janneke House, Dennis Carlone and Nadeem Mazen promises change and shares a thoughtful vision for open, professional, innovative city government. They will get my No. 1, 2 and 3 votes. And I’ll be supporting other challengers with records of leadership, including Jefferson Smith and Marc McGovern.
