081114i-Warren-TolmanMore than 20 years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Warren Tolman. In the years since, Warren has been a mentor to me in my career, and I have had the opportunity to learn who Warren is as a person and leader. I know Warren as a great father to his three children, a great husband to his wife, Carolyn, and a progressive advocate who cares dearly about the community he served.

Warren cares about the progressive issues that matter to the people of Cambridge. Heโ€™s committed to providing economic opportunities to working families. Years before the stateโ€™s Supreme Judicial Court ruled in favor of equal marriage, Warren sponsored legislation that allowed LGBT city workers in Cambridge to be eligible for domestic partnership benefits.

What impresses me most about Warren is that heโ€™ll not only do what is required of him, but will go above and beyond to lead on important issue facing the Commonwealth. Warren is the only candidate who wonโ€™t wait to take on the National Rifle Association and will use the powers of the Attorney Generalโ€™s Office to mandate smart-gun technology on all new guns sold in Massachusetts.

For me, having known him so long, heโ€™s one of the most principled and passionate, yet humble guys youโ€™ll ever meet. Thereโ€™s no doubt in my mind heโ€™ll make a great attorney general. Please join me in voting for Warren Tolman in the Democratic primary election today.
