People who live or work in Cambridge are sought to fill vacancies on the Cambridge GLBT Commission, which advocates for a culture of respect and monitors progress toward equality of all people with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity, focusing on issues affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

The commission also monitors policies and practices that have a positive effect on the health, welfare and safety of people who live, visit or work in the city with regard to sexual orientation and gender identity.

Although it is not a requirement for application, it is recommended that applicants attend a commission meeting to see how it operates. The next meeting is Nov. 20. Agendas, minutes and other information can be found on its website.

A letter of interest with a brief résumé can be sent by Nov. 24 to City Manager Richard C. Rossi at City of Cambridge, 795 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA 02139; via e-mail to [email protected] or by fax to (617) 349-4307.

For information, call (617) 349-4300.
