From the City of Cambridge, Aug. 17, 2015: The city is hosting an information session for Building Pathways, a pre-apprenticeship program for construction trades, at 6 p.m. Aug. 31 at 51 Inman St., Mid-Cambridge.

Building Pathways is a six-week, highly competitive program designed to prepare qualified men and women for an apprenticeship in one of the building trades through classroom and hands-on learning. Candidates must meet all of the eligibility criteria and have a genuine interest in the construction trades.

To be eligible, you must: be 18 or older; have a high school diploma or GED; have a valid driver’s license; have a car; be able to do challenging physical work and tolerate weather extremes; be drug free and able to pass a drug test before and during the program; have good math and English skills (there’s a test); and be authorized to work in the United States.
