The Simoni Memorial Ice Rink has announced its public ice skating schedule for school vacation week, Dec. 24-Jan. 3. The rink charges $5 admission and rents skates for $5 on a first-come, first-served basis and is open from Dec. 24 from 12:30 to 2:20 p.m.; closed to the public Dec. 25-26; open Dec. 27 from 1 to 2:50 p.m.; open Dec. 28-Jan. 1 from 12:30 to 2:20 p.m.; closed to the public Jan. 2; and open Jan. 3 from 1 to 2:50 p.m. The Simoni Memorial Ice Rink is at 155 Gore St., East Cambridge.

There’s also an outdoor ice rink in Cambridge, Massachusetts, just off Third Street that runs noon to 5 p.m. Mondays; noon to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays; noon to 9 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. It is open mid-December through mid-March, weather permitting.

A seasonal Waffle Cabin serving Belgian sugar waffles and hot drinks including coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cider, is open by the outdoor rink.

The Rink at The Charles Hotel in Harvard Square is not open this winter.
