From the City of Cambridge, Feb. 5, 2016: City officials will note the opening of Cambridge’s first free-standing public toilet in Friday remarks.

The facility is a simple, sturdy, graffiti-resistant, flush toilet kiosk – a “Portland Loo” from Portland, Ore. – on the sidewalk in MacArthur Park, also known as General MacArthur Square, near Church Street in Harvard Square. The toilets are free and accessible 24 hours a day. These facilities provide the community with a clean, safe and environmentally friendly restroom.

The event is scheduled for noon Friday in MacArthur Park.
