From Cambridge at Home, Sept. 9, 2016: A free forum on legal, financial and care management issues facing seniors and their families called “Preparing for Your Future: Anticipating the Unexpected” is planned for 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Main Lecture Hall of the Cambridge Main Library, 449 Broadway, Mid-Cambridge.

The forum is intended to help people to bring awareness of the challenges and transitions of aging and enable older adults to take charge of their future. Expert presenters include attorney Anna E. Byrne, who will discuss estate plans that encompass more than just protection and transfer of assets; Tobe Gerard, who will discuss the “dollars and sense of long-term care insurance”; and social worker Martha Bass, who will look at “recognizing the challenges of elder transitions,” including asking when care planning is appropriate and who can help guide seniors and their families to practical solutions.

The event starts with refreshments at 5:30 p.m. To register, call (617) 864-1715 or send email to [email protected].
