From the Cambridgeport Neighborhood Association, Jan. 6, 2017: Reconstruction of Interstate 90 as part of the Allston I-90 Interchange Improvement Project is scheduled to begin in 2019 and will continue for four or five years, dramatically affecting neighborhoods on both sides of the river during construction and afterward.

Michael Oโ€™Dowd, project director for Interstate 90 improvements for the state Department of Transportation, will present proposed work to the community atย 7 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Central Square Library, 45 Pearl St. Along with sharing the current plan, Oโ€™Dowd will address neighborhood concerns about traffic patterns, noise abatement and easy access for residents on and off the Massachusetts Turnpike.

This presentation will be part of the Cambridgeport Neighborhood Associationโ€™s annual meeting. A quick election of two board members will precede the MassDOT presentation. Neighbors are welcome to mix and mingle fromย 6:30 to 7 p.m. before the meeting.ย All are welcome. In case of snow, this meeting will be postponed toย the same time and location Jan. 26. To confirm snow date plans the day of the event or for other information, emailย cportneighbors@yahoogroups.com.
