From the City of Cambridge, July 27, 2016: The Council on Aging is seeking people to serve on its board and advocate for issues important to seniors. Applicants must be age 60 or older and a Cambridge resident.

The deadline is Nov. 20 for letters expressing interest and describing applicable experience.

The purpose of the board is to promote and encourage existing and new services and activities intended to enhance and improve the quality of life of older people in the city; advise the city manager on matters pertaining to the elderly; and advocate for older residents. Board members also support Council on Aging and Senior Center staff with community outreach for services, benefits, activities and programs.

Letters should be sent to Louis A. DePasquale using the City’s online application system at cambridgema.gov/apply. A cover letter and résumé or applicable experience can be submitted during the online application process. Paper applications are available in the City Manager’s Office at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square.
