Memorial Drive will be largely shut down between Vassar Street and Massachusetts Avenue from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 17 by the state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation, to accommodate construction crane operations. Memorial Drive outbound traffic will have one open travel lane; inbound traffic will be detoured at Vassar Street, the department said. Traffic and pedestrian patterns will be marked, and a police detail will be on site, it said.
