Cambridge Economic Opportunity Committee gets $45,000 grant for health insurance help
The Cambridge Economic Opportunity Committee nonprofit has been awarded a $45,000 grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation, according to a Thursday email. It’s part of more than $3 million in grants from the foundation to 64 regional community-based programs and projects promoting sustainable improvements in health care access for low-income and uninsured residents of Massachusetts. Over the past two decades, the foundation has granted more than $73 million in total, officials said.
In the case of CEOC, the money was a Connecting Consumers with Care grant to support a community-based organization in helping consumer secure, maintain and navigate health insurance coverage.
