The Cambridge Public Schools website went offline at about noon Friday due to an outage with its hosting service, leaving the community with little to no access to general district, School Committee and school information.

Staff and student resources were also affected briefly; the district was able to bring many applications back online in about an hour, including the Aspen Student Information System.

“The website outage is a frustrating and inconvenient situation,” said Lyndsay Pinkus-Brown, the district’s chief strategy officer. “Unfortunately, the company that hosts the CPSD website, along with other school districts’ websites, is down and has not yet provided an estimated time frame for it to be back online.” The outage continued past 5:30 p.m.

Access to remote learning classrooms was not affected, and it is anticipated that meetings scheduled for the weekend will be held as planned.
