Foundry Advisory members meet

Cambridge Redevelopment Authority Foundry Advisory Committee, 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday. The body overseeing the new-ish East Cambridge community building with offices, makerspaces and a stage gets general and leasing updates, reviews its volunteer program and makes plans for the year. It looks also at a 2023 annual report ahead of another discussion by the full Cambridge Redevelopment Authority on Wednesday. The authority meets at The Foundry, 101 Rogers St., East Cambridge.


Homeland security discussion

Metro Boston Homeland Security Region, 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Homeland security is still a thing. The security region’s leaders meet for a catch-up on budgeting from the 2020 fiscal year to the 2022 fiscal year and consider whether there’s new business. Watchable by videoconferencing.

Annual board meeting of the CRA

Cambridge Redevelopment Authority, 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The board of this agency overseeing Kendall Square development (and mitigating its effects on the rest of the city) holds its annual meeting and election of officers, as well as adds the appointment of a chief procurement officer to its roster. The meeting includes the annual report for The Foundry Consortium, which oversees the East Cambridge community building, and prepares to to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House, a nonprofit in The Port neighborhood, to revitalize its historic building at 71 Cherry St. and redevelop the parking lot into affordable housing. Changes to City Council rules

Government Operations, Rules & Claims Committee, 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 26. This committee run by councillor Paul Toner continues reviewing and discussing possible amendments to how the City Council runs, including whether the council finds a new approach to occasionally complicated “foreign policy resolutions.” The committee meets at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave., Central Square.
