Four eateries, arcade and dorm
License Commission, 10 a.m. Friday. A coffee and natural-wine bar called Tilde is coming to 2376 Massachusetts Ave. and looking to open by late September, filling space once held by the Sheger Cafe and Ethiopian Restaurant as the Sheger Ethiopian Food Market next door at 2368 Massachusetts Ave. takes on that role by adding restaurant service under new licensing, according to the commissionโs agenda. Both have seating for 20, with Tilde expecting to be open until midnight and Sheger until 9 p.m. weekdays and 10 p.m. weekends. Tenoch Mexican, which has a location in Somervilleโs Davis Square, seeks to come to The Garage mall at 83 Mount Auburn St., Harvard Square, which was an El Jefeโs Taqueria slot until its move to Brattle Street โ but renovation at The Garage is on hold to wait out an improving office-space economy. Since making news in June, a restaurant called Fallow Kin is closer to filling hunger for farm-to-table dining at the old Craigie on Main spot at 853 Main St., just outside Central Square, 2,958 square feet with occupancy of 89 open until 1 a.m. daily.
As signaled last month by the Central Square Business Improvement District, a 30-game Dx Arcade is moving into 2,700 square feet at 580 Massachusetts Ave. and asks licensing for food, adult drinks and entertainment for a total occupancy of 150 open until 11 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, midnight Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology asks occupancy permitting for the 10-story, two-building, 351-room Vassar Street dorm it built for 677 graduate students at 269-301 Vassar St., Area II.
Watchable by Zoom videoconferencing.
