Price: $2

Wholesome Fresh is a grocery store in Harvard Square that sells a wide variety of gourmet snacks and has an in-store deli and an extensive hot bar. Boxes and plates are available for purchase by weight, but the green vegetable bunโ€™s low price caught my eye, and I thought I would see if it was a worthwhile cheap, on-the-go Snack. From the outside, it looked promising. The bao was fluffy, and when I broke it in half, the texture inside was springy and soft. The filling appeared to be a mixture of glass noodles and leafy green vegetables, but unfortunately was completely tasteless. It was overcooked and mushy, which didnโ€™t help the fact that it didnโ€™t have redeeming qualities flavor-wise either. It might be cheap, but it wasnโ€™t good. If youโ€™re passing by, the rest of the hot bar might be worth trying, but not this bun.ย
