Passing through Harvard’s Smith Campus Center, which has almost a food hall feel with small locations of eateries such as Pavement Coffeehouse and Bon Me, I stumbled across a relatively new addition: Kome Sushi & Bowl. Almost all the rolls were under $10, and I’m always looking for (good) inexpensive sushi. I was pleasantly surprised by the spicy salmon roll, which came with six hefty pieces. I was expecting more of a grocery-store-sushi vibe, but I watched this roll be made right in front of me, and the result was fresh and tasty. Though I would’ve liked the salmon to be spicier, the rolls were amply filled with lots of tempura flakes for crunch and were rolled in chopped scallions, which I thought was a nice touch. It was a light and delicious lunch, and a testament to the Smith Center as a worthwhile place to visit even without a Harvard affiliation.
