At Boston Calling 2025, the only thing more unpredictable than the weather was the style. With moody skies, bursts of rain and the occasional fake-out sunbeam, festivalgoers didn’t just endure the elements, they dressed through them. Across the Harvard Athletic Complex, fashion reflected the shifting vibes of each day and the resilient spirit of the crowd.
The festival began with a heavy dose of country chic. Wide-brimmed hats, vintage denim and Western boots stomped through puddles and photo ops Friday. Women floated by in flowy skirts and cinched dresses; men stuck to classic tees and fitted jeans. “It’s giving Nashville in the Northeast,” one attendee said. The bright weather and upbeat music lineup fueled the Americana feel, amplified by an ocean of blue and white bows paying tribute to a performance by “emo cowgirl” Megan Moroney.

By Saturday, everything shifted. Temperature, sky and soundtrack took a darker turn. With a cooler, gloomier forecast and a lineup leaning more alternative and rock, fashion followed: ripped tights, dramatic eyeliner, studded chokers and oversized leather. Cowboy boots were swapped for combat boots, while metal accessories and BDSM-inspired belts turned up the volume on a more rebellious aesthetic. Even rainwear made a statement. Clear ponchos revealed bold outfits underneath and waterproof boots came in everything from neon to animal print.
New Englanders don’t just adapt. They express. Rain or shine, the fashion was fearless.
