Massachusetts Womenโs Political Caucus makes six endorsements
The Massachusetts Womenโs Political Caucusโ list of endorsements for elections statewide includes two Somerville reelection bids: Katjana Ballantyne for mayor and Kristen Strezo for councilor at large. The group also backs candidates for councilor at-large Marianne Walles and Holly Simione โ endorsing for three of the councilโs four at-large seats.
Also endorsed by the caucus: Ward 2 School Committee candidate Eldridge. Eldridge is running against incumbent Ilana Krepchin.
The organization says it is nonpartisan and committed to increasing the number of women elected to public office and appointed to public policy positions.

Vote Mama endorses Strezo, Ballantyne
Strezo and Ballantyne were also endorsed last week by Vote Mama, an organization that seeks to โincrease the number of Democratic momsโ holding political office in several states. Strezo and Ballantyne are the only candidates in Massachusetts endorsed by the organization this year.

Burnley receives DSA endorsement
Councilor at-large Willie Burnley Jr. has been endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America in his run for Somerville mayor. Burnley is one of 12 candidates endorsed by the national DSA, and the only one from Massachusetts. โOn council, Willie has been a fighter for working-class issues. As mayor heโll champion housing for all, public transit and more,โ the DSA posted on Instagram on July 22.

Somerville for Palestine hosts mayoral meet-and-greets
Activist group Somerville for Palestine hosted meet and greets with councilors at-large Willie Burnley Jr. and Jake Wilson as part of a series with Somervilleโs three candidates for mayor. The group hosted Wilson on July 22 and Burnley on July 15.ย
A meet-and-greet with Ballantyne is set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Citing security concerns, the group asks that people interested in attending message it via Instagram for theย location.

Somerville Media Center publishes candidate profiles
Video profiles of 21 of 36 candidates running for mayor, City Council and School Committee are posted by the Somerville Media Center. More five-minute introductory videos with the 15 other candidates for office will be published, the organization says.
