Price: $10

For the past month, the highlight of my week has been going to Central Square for Shōjō’s Wednesday deal of $1 chicken wings. What better way to get through the middle of a stultifying workweek than to hammer away at some juicy, hot wings, slathered in a variety of asian-cuisine-inspired sauces? The answer is simple: Throw in a side of some duck fat fries. These fries don’t try to pull their punches – the unashamed greasiness of the duck fat might put you to sleep until the bite of the green onions slaps you back awake. Then comes the kick of the Sriracha aioli, a spicy, creamy coup de grace that doesn’t try to balance out the savoriness of the fries, but instead adds to the barrage. The dollar wings, the duck fat fries and throwing in a pitcher of some ice-cold Sapporo draft is the midweek pick-me-up everyone deserves.
