The title offers no clue that Ana Fabrega’s “Get the Chicken Out of the House” is set, in part, in a courtroom. Then again, Fabrega’s comedy most notably includes HBO’s gone-too-soon “Los Espookys” and “Fantasmas” (both created by her friend Julio Torres) and IFC’s surreal “At Home With Amy Sedaris.” So it’s difficult to define – or even reasonably predict – what you’ll see. Suffice it to say, her work is adept in meeting the theater’s ethos of hosting “funny, dark, smart and great” shows. This hour of stand-up is touring in preparation for a special (she calls it the “live portion”), but teasing a show by a performer who often defies explanation is hard. If you appreciate a dose of the absurd delivered in a sincere yet playful deadpan, and are down to be surprised, you will love this show. Get out of the house, you chicken, and go see her.
“Get the Chicken Out of the House” at 7 p.m. Friday at The Rockwell, 255 Elm St., Davis Square, Somerville. $20 to $25.
