True leadership is measured not by promises, but by action. Time and again, Vice Mayor Marc McGovern has proven that his leadership is rooted in compassion, accountability, and results.

In a time of uncertainty, when many families like mine have faced real challenges, Vice Mayor McGovern has been a steady presence. He doesn’t just listen — he acts. He remembers that behind every policy are real people, with real struggles, and he never loses sight of that.

In Cambridge, his leadership has strengthened public safety, created opportunities for our young people, supported working parents, and protected vital local services. These are not just political wins — they are investments in people and in our community’s future.

We need leaders who lean into responsibility, not away from it. Vice Mayor McGovern has shown he is that kind of leader. Cambridge is stronger because of him, and I am proud to stand firmly behind his leadership.

  1. I’m increasingly concerned with the current City Council. Despite Cambridge’s growing budget and rising taxes, very little seems to be improving. We’re seeing more homelessness, more open drug use, and more people struggling without meaningful support. It’s not a question of resources, the city has the money, but of priorities. Instead of focusing on visible, everyday problems, the Council has spent its energy on sweeping zoning changes, many of which Councilor Marc McGovern has supported, that seem disconnected from what residents actually need. We want a council focused on our needs not the wants of developers. It’s to bad his priorities changed because he used to be great.

  2. Zoning changes are actually a response to homelessness. Homelessness is caused by many things but the main contributor is high housing prices. High housing prices are also caused by many things, but a big contributor from city government is our city’s choice to make it either illegal or very difficult+expensive to increase housing density. Differences in zoning laws are why Texas does better on homelessness than Massachusetts.
