The CRLS boys’ hockey team (6-8-1) dominated Haverhill on Wednesday in a 9-2 victory but dropped a heartbreaker in overtime to Bedford on Saturday, 4-3. In the defeat of Haverhill, Matias Moore scored four goals and added an assist, and Joshua Pite had two goals and three assists. Liam Molberger, Tate Schoenau, and Henrik Emerton added one goal each, and Emerton had an assist. Joel Perez assisted on three goals, Yona Reinhorn and Everett Mildwoff registered two assists each, and Vincent Caterina and Finnegan McKenna each had one. Owen Goldstein made 32 saves.

In the loss to Bedford, Moore, Molberger, and Perez each scored. Molberger also assisted on two goals, and Moore also registered an assist. Pite had two assists. Goldstein made 29 saves.

Girls’ hockey: The girls’ hockey team (1-14) dropped games to Westford on January 28, 4-0, Waltham on Saturday, 6-0, and Lexington on Monday, 8-2. Against Westford, Max Cowen-Breen made 26 saves, and against Waltham, she made 29 saves through two periods. Norah Whouley came in to make nine saves in the third period. Against Lexington, Emmy Marsh-Zinser and Marin Albrecht scored the Falcons’ goals. Albrecht, Olivia Gao, Joanna Gao, and Caitlin Beyer had one assist each.

Girls’ swimming: At the Dual County League Swimming and Diving Championships, held Thursday through Saturday, the girls’ swimming team finished seventh among nine teams. Concord-Carlise took the title. For CRLS, Laura Park had a great meet, finishing second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.55 and third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.85. In the 500-yard freestyle, Bess Sterman took third (5:28.87), and in the 200-yard freestyle she finished fourth (2:05.33).

In the 100-yard butterfly, Lila Nguyen finished fifth (1:06.01) and sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.09). The 4×50-yard freestyle relay team of Nguyen, Emily Anne Wintner, Park, and Sterman took sixth (1:48.32). The 4×100-yard freestyle relay team of Nguyen, Bianca Etkin, Park, and Sterman finished seventh (4:01.30)

Boys’ swimming: The boys’ swimming team finished tenth among thirteen teams at the DCL Swimming and Diving Championships. Hong-Joon Koh finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.71. In the 100-yard backstroke, Desmond Long finished seventh (59.47). The 4×50-yard freestyle relay team of Khantushig Lkhagvajargal, Jae Mbugua, Giacomo Zambotti, and Koh finished ninth (1:35.44). The 4×50-yard medley relay team of Long, Koh, Zambotti, and Lkhagvajargal finished tenth (1:45.75).

Boys’ basketball: The boys’ basketball team (10-2) extended its winning streak to nine games by crushing Wayland on January 28, 63-46, and Waltham, 53-33, on Friday. The Falcons are now ranked tenth in Eastern Massachusetts by the Boston Globe.

Against Wayland, Aaron Abebe scored 14 points and pulled down six rebounds, and Jaydaan Correia also had 14 points and grabbed five rebounds. Imam Firmin Jr. scored 12 points, had five rebounds, and made four steals. In the defeat of Waltham, Abebe scored 20 points and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line. He also had seven rebounds. Senior captain Correia had eight points and seven rebounds.

Girls’ basketball: The girls’ basketball team (5-9) split its two games last week, losing to Waltham on Friday, 38-34, and defeating Wayland on Monday, 43-29. Against Waltham, Jai Gomes led the way with 10 points, three rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Christiane Lebeau scored nine points and pulled down four rebounds. In the win over Wayland, Gomes again was the Falcons’ best player, with 14 points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Jaida Hope had 12 points, and Jenn Duverglas added six points and three rebounds.
