RSVP. Elizabeth Gonzalez James and Fin Leary read selections from their works in progress. James is a screenwriter and bestselling author of the novels, “The Bullet Swallower” and “Mona at Sea,” as well as the chapbook, “Five Conversations About Peter Sellers.” Fin is the editor of the science fiction anthology “Future States of Stars” and a contributor to the young adult horror anthology “These Bodies Ain’t Broken.”

$27 to $103. Estranged from his wife and son during the pandemic lockdown, Frank accepts a job as a content moderator for the world’s largest social media company. The work takes a psychological toll, but when he helps a stranger, he may be able to save himself in the process.

This monthly coffee house event includes an open mic for the general public.

Jarvis R. Givens reads from “I’ll Make Me A World: The 100-Year Journey of Black History Month”

The co-founding faculty director of the Black Teacher Archive at Harvard University traces the 100-year history of Black History Month from its beginnings in 1926 as “Negro History Week” to its role today as a celebration and flashpoint in America’s cultural battles. Harvard’s Imani Perry joins.

  1. I appreciate that this calendar still happens each week.

    Hopefully constructive feedback: This new layout of events could use a minor tweak to be great: It is hard to tell if the time/date/location is for the event above or below it. Often that information is after the title of the event, and distinct in some way, like italicized.

    Thanks again for putting this together, it is crucial infrastructure for the cambridge area arts scene.
