The family of Toshiaki Takenaka, a 21-year-old Cambridge resident who works in Boston, is seeking information on their son, who was last seen Tuesday night, April 21.
Security footage from his residence at 151 N. First Street showed him leaving his building at 10:11 p.m., according to his father, also Toshiaki Takenaka. The younger Takenaka was wearing a navy-blue hoodie, sweatpants and running shoes. His father said he was unlikely to have been going out for a jog, since he left his Apple Watch in his apartment.

Takenakaโs father said he had been talking with his son just beforehand, and the two had agreed to talk again the next afternoon. When his son didnโt call and didnโt respond to texts, his father grew worried and called his sonโs roommate. The younger Takenaka was not in his room and had left his wallet, passport and green card. Takenaka is from the Dominican Republic and has Lawful Permanent Resident status in the United States.
The younger Takenaka graduated from Hult International Business School in 2025 and went to work at Datadog, a Boston company that provides services for cloud-based computing. He is 5โ 7โ tall and weighs about 190 pounds, his father said.
He has been active volunteering at community events, including Mondayโs Boston Marathon, and had signed up as a volunteer for the forthcoming World Cup.
The City of Cambridge Police Department asks anyone with information that could help find the younger Takenaka to call 617-349-3300 or submit an anonymous tip through its website.
