Pasquarello has traveled to 36 countries for the U.S. Department of State, where she served in a variety of roles, including as executive assistant to the U.S. ambassador to Thailand. She founded Global Secure Resources, a company dedicated to risk mitigation and threat assessment planning.
Housing: “I look at housing from a unique perspective because I’ve lived in some of the most diverse, densely populated and expensive locations in the world … I want setbacks so we can add trees, and it’s important to preserve our history and the unique characteristics of Cambridge.”
Climate policy: “We need transparency and accountability to come to the people, because from what I’ve been hearing, people are angry that they don’t even understand Beudo. We need to do a better job of sharing the information with our community and make sure everyone is on board and understand the full idea of how this implementation will affect families.”
Road infrastructure: “I know we can do a better job of rolling out our bike lanes that in a way doesn’t hurt businesses. We need to look at innovative ways to keep bikers, pedestrians and drivers safer … We have to address the mass transit infrastructure and make sure that public transportation is enticing to riders.”
Pet project: Pasquarello wants to improve transparency in Cambridge’s government, especially on issues such as the Cycling Safety Ordinance, the Building Energy Use Disclosure Ordinance and Affordable Housing Overlay zoning.
Participatory budgeting:
I would have summer programs in the parks for children involving science, technology, engineering and math, such as Starbase … Programs in the park and community centers for seniors such as seminars about aging in place, scam prevention, city service assistance and other services that make the information more accessible for seniors who have mobility issues or lack of computer access.
Favorite place: Fresh Pond. I have many great memories, whether sledding with my children when they were little or walking around the pond.
