The so-called Gates Committee — the 12-member panel examining the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. for lessons — will release its final report at a Wednesday press conference, said the police department’s communications specialist, Dan Riviello, on Monday.

The press conference for its release is to be at 11:30 a.m. at the 125 Sixth St., Cambridge, police department building, he said.

Police Commissioner Robert Haas is scheduled to speak, then Chuck Wexler, chairman of the Cambridge Review Committee. There will be a question-and-answer period, and the text of the report will be online that day, he said.

The release comes after a series of missed deadlines.
