Fourteen Cambridge restaurants are on Boston magazine’s list of top eateries, the magazine announced today. The list appears in the November issue after the “expert staff visited hundreds of restaurants in and around Boston to present readers with a list of the absolute best restaurants the Boston area has to offer, be it high-end, casual, veteran or upstart dining.”

“Upstart dining” may be a new term to some. It means … well, it’s not clear what it means, since the term in actual English isn’t so nice and the synonyms are even worse, but let’s hope it doesn’t catch on.

The following restaurants were featured in this year’s Top Restaurants issue:

The Blue Room; Chez Henri; Craigie On Main; Dante; Harvest; Hungry Mother; Oleana; Rendezvous; Rialto; Salts; Ten Tables Cambridge; Tupelo; T.W. Food; and Upstairs on the Square.
