070314i-Bay-State-Games-logoCambridge Rindge and Latin and Matignon High School girl’s hockey players have teamed up to take the ice this month for the Metro team in the Bay State Games, an Olympic-style competition held annually since 1982.

The CRLS skaters include Adrienne Ashe, a sophomore forward, Kaleigh Conte, a sophomore defender, Bella Corcione, a sophomore forward, Katelin McCallum, a junior forward, and Grace Toner, a sophomore defender. Representing Matignon is junior forward Rose Sullivan.

The Metro team also includes Bridget and Katherine Crane, Bridget Flaherty and Erin King, of Arlington Catholic High School; Maggie Flaherty, of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn; Reid Nichols, of Lexington High School; and Laura Shea, of Arlington High School. The Metro team is coached by Medford High girls varsity assistant hockey coach Josh Glionna.

The tournament takes place at the Foxboro Sports Center in Foxboro, with Metro playing at 2:20 p.m. July 10 against Northeast; at 2:40 p.m. July 11 against Central/West; at 12:30 p.m. July 12 against Southeast/Coastal; and at 1:50 p.m. July 13 for a bronze medal game or at 2 p.m. in gold medal game.
