The Cambridge Community Learning Center is offering a free Healthcare Career Prep Program starting in September. The 16-week course is designed for English-language learners who want to prepare for entrance into training programs for certified nursing assistants, home health aides, medical assistants, phlebotomists and other entry-level health care positions.

Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays through Thursdays. Students are expected to increase their spoken English, reading comprehension skills and math skills; study medical topics and vocabulary; and master basic computer skills. They will also develop career awareness, job readiness, better communication and and soft skills such as awareness of cultural differences.
