From the state Department of Transportation, April 19, 2018: The draft capital investment plan update for spending on state Department of Transportation and Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority projects in the fiscal years 2019-23 is being presented this month, but of 10 presentations, none will be held in Cambridge or Somerville. The closest is also the first: At 6:30 p.m. May 15 at the Boston Centers for Youth & Families auditorium, 5 Mildred Ave., Boston.

The draft explains a multibillion-dollar investment portfolio that includes all state highway and bridge projects, regional airports, rail and transit, including the MBTA and regional transit authorities, as well as the Registry of Motor Vehicles. A copy is available at mass.gov/service-details/capital-investment-plan-cip.

“Public participation is essential to the success of the CIP,” state transportation officials said in a press release. A public comment period on the update begins May 15 and ends June 4. Public comments may be submitted by email to [email protected].
