Somerville artist Sneha Shrestha opens “Ritual and Devotion,” her first major solo exhibition, Feb. 1 in at the Cantor Art Gallery in Worcester.

Known for her sweeping, calligraphic murals that depict the Nepali alphabet, Shrestha has made waves in Greater Boston’s arts scene in the past few years – her painting “Home416” was acquired by the Museum of Fine Arts in 2023. Cambridge residents will likely recognize Shrestha’s piece “For Cambridge With Love From Nepal,” which towers at 60 feet on a building in Central Square. Shrestha’s murals are all across the area, from Allston to Dorchester.

Though her works have typically been scattered on public buildings, Shrestha has worked toward bringing them together in one place. The Cantor Gallery has been installing the artwork this week. Shrestha has shared snapshots and videos on her Instagram of an exhibition including old and new pieces. Shrestha is working on a site-specific mural now – a joyfully bright shade of yellow.

The show has an opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 1 at 1 College St., Worcester.
