Central Square rezoning ideas
Neighborhood & Long Term Planning, Public Facilities, Arts & Celebration Committee, 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday. This committee run by city councillors Cathie Zusy and Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler discusses preliminary recommendations from the Central Square rezoning process. Envisioning Mass. Ave. of 2040
Massachusetts Avenue Planning Study working group, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. This group already considered what the avenue will look like in 2040 from Porter Square south to Cambridge Common; now it turns its attention to North Massachusetts Avenue, from Porter Square to Alewife Brook Parkway. Members discuss public feedback from a Sept. 26 community meeting, review goals and set an approach for recommendations on such things as housing, urban design, zoning, open space, climate resiliency and small-business development. City-funded housing vouchers
Housing Committee, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday. This committee run by city councillors Burhan Azeem and Sumbul Siddiqui continues a discussion from April 30 about municipally funded housing vouchers. Net zero transportation plan
Joint Meeting of Transportation Committees, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Bicycle, Pedestrian and Transit Advisory committees join to talk about the cityโs net zero transportation plan, part of the cityโs goal to use only renewable energy by 2035 and reach zero emissions by 2050. The groups are looking at everything from how to reduce car ownership and car trips to what can be done to make moving around Cambridge โmore safe, convenient and enjoyable.โ Watchable by Zoom videoconferencing.
