Paris Baguette, the French-inspired bakery café with Korean roots that inhabits Central Square’s H Mart, has a fusion menu that includes sticky milk buns and whole red bean breads alongside almond croissants and cinnamon apple pies. I tried one of its savory offerings, the curry croquette, and although I could see the potential, it was a bit of a letdown. Unlike a typical potato croquette, this was a bread pocket of sorts, stuffed with vegetable curry. The filling was good, with a decent curry flavor, but there wasn’t much of it inside the pastry, meaning each bite was about 80 percent bread and 20 percent filling. The panko on the outside added a nice crunch, but didn’t make up for what was essentially a bread roll with a touch of curry. I could see it being better if it was warm, but at room temperature, it wasn’t anything special.
