The patty melt at Tasty Burger in Cambridgeโ€™s Central and Harvard squares.

Price: $8.75

In last weekโ€™s Snack, I tried a burrito from Achilitoโ€™s and wrote about how much I love finding sub-$10 gems that are filling enough to be full meals. This week, I lucked out a second time at Tasty Burger with its patty melt. The best part about Tasty Burger is that every single item on its menu is under $10 except its double cheeseburger, and even that goes for $10.75. The patty melt is a burger with cheese, caramelized onions and a griddled and toasted bun that I thought was delicious. The cheese was slightly rubbery, which was a small letdown, but the meat was juicy with charred edges and the caramelized onions were saucy (and many). The griddled bun added a buttery crunch to each bite, a nice addition. Although Tasty Burger is a pretty no-frills spot, itโ€™s mostly mastered quick burgers on the cheap.
