Despite the name of this column, my favorite Snacks are the ones that can really be meals. They’re getting harder to find, so I’m always looking for the sub-$10 menu items that can actually be lunch or in some cases even dinner – some notable past examples include Chang Foods’ veggie garlic noodles, the poutine at Saus in Bow Market, Cambridge Pizzeria’s chicken Caesar wrap and Vester Cafe’s smashburger. This week, I tried the chorizo burrito from Achilito’s Taqueria in Harvard Square for $10 and was pleased to find it was a delicious addition to the category. It was definitely a rice-heavy burrito, but I don’t mind that, and the chunks of chopped up chorizo were juicy, the edges nicely charred, with a slight kick. You’re able to choose between black, pinto and refried beans, toppings such as cheese and lettuce and salsas and other sauces, all customizable, which I always appreciate.
