Pastry chefs Rachel Sundet and Chelsea Kantor of Mamaleh’s Delicatessen in Kendall Square host a black and white cookie masterclass Thursday at 6 p.m. But these won’t be the traditional two-toned treats that participants take home. Murder mystery meal and ‘Jaws’
The Cambridge location of the seafood restaurant Summer Shack puts a deadly twist on its dinner service June 27, transforming it into an interactive murder mystery consisting of a three-course meal and cocktails. Guests are encouraged to dress for the “I Love the ’80s to Death” theme. $76.50.
Shifting from stage to screen, Summer Shack hosts a clambake at 7 p.m July 11 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Jaws.” An outdoor meal of lobster, chowder and surf-inspired cocktails accompanies a screening of Steven Spielberg’s classic film, which introduced the era of the cinematic blockbuster and made every week Shark Week. $71.

Toscanini’s ice creams for June
The Dubai chocolate craze takes another form in Cambridge in Toscanini’s first-ever Ice Cream Flavor Throwdown winner: “Do Buy Chocolate Pistachio.” Made with imported pistachio paste, the flavor is available only at Toscanini’s 159 First St., East Cambridge, location or through DoorDash in premade, hand-packed pints.
For those who won’t budge from the Lafayette Square location, three more featured flavors are at both Toscanini’s this month: Coffee Chip; Honey Lavender, a classic summer flavor combination; and Milo Godzilla, the ice cream version of the melt-on-your-tongue Whopper malt chocolate candies, pairing well with classic flavors such as Cookie Dough and Cookies & Cream.

J.P. Licks ice creams for June
June has brought two new offerings to J.P. Licks, which has outposts in Assembly Row, Davis Square and Harvard Square: Orange Chocolate Chip and the chain’s widely requested take on Cotton Candy, which is available in ice cream form and as a topping.

Monthly clambakes
Chef Will Gilson celebrates summer with a series of clambakes on the Puritan & Co. patio. Diners at the Inman Square restaurant, which creates meals rooted in New England tradition, sits at communal tables to enjoy two drinks and three courses of classic regional offerings such as stuffies, clam chowder, lobster and peach cobbler. The clambakes start at 6 p.m July 13 and Aug. 31. $85.

Field trip with Urban Hearth
Erin Miller – a James Beard nominee for Best Chef Northeast – creates dishes centered around New England’s farms and fisheries at Urban Hearth, her restaurant at 2263 Massachusetts Ave., North Cambridge. But on Aug. 23, she focuses her talents more narrowly on produce and meat sourced directly from Weir River Farm in Hingham for an on-site, 3 p.m. meal overlooking its wild woodlands. $395.
