Food coverage I have been following religiously is Johnny Novo’s “Chicken Wars,” the rotisserie chicken reviews of a TikToker. (He’s at @jnov__ on the platform.) As he’s based in New York City, I didn’t expect a review at a Market Basket; when I saw the video, I knew I had to check it out for myself. The simplest comment I can make is that for just shy of $5 (Novo’s cheapest), this bird is worth every penny. The skin has a beautiful color with a perfect crispiness to match. The breast was so juicy it could be cut through with a cheap plastic knife, and goes perfectly in a chicken sandwich. By far the best part was the legs – I’ve never had chicken meat melt in my mouth until I tried this bird. Didn’t think I could be more of a fan of Market Basket, but this chicken just guaranteed my lifelong loyalty.
