If you love Iggy’s Bread as a supplier of so many Greater Boston eateries or are a frequenter of the mothership store, tucked away on Fawcett Street behind the Trader Joe’s in Fresh Pond, you’ll be down for Imagine, its quaint, Mediterranean-accented cafe next to Formaggio Kitchen serving mostly sweet and savory pastry. The croissants are displayed as works of art, lined up teasingly as puffy, plump plains; chocolate; almond; and the one to tide you over, ham and cheese – flaky on the outside, moist and chewy inside, the perfect yin-and-yang pleasure and a steal for $5 so on your snack budget you can slide in a jam-filled butter cookie for another two greenbacks. (Though the iced turmeric tea is also fabulous.) On weekends, Imagine serves other snackable savories and wine. The small space is chill but not a hang-all-day-on-your-laptop kind of spot, and it opened without a name. Some still call it Kismet.
