Guiltily, I admit we were at Tasty Burger in February to sample its patty melt, and there’s no real excuse for coming back so soon when Cambridge-Somerville is bursting with Snack options. I mean, there is an excuse: The bacon cheeseburger here makes me happy, with its collection of flavors that are so distinct but work so well together. If it’s goony to say a bacon cheeseburger leaves me with a warm glow, so be it. I’m not crushing on the Totchos, though, a side that uses tater tots as a base for chili, cheese sauce, sour cream, tomatoes and scallions as though they were (of course) nachos. The toppings were lukewarm goop, weak in flavor where the burger was strong. The most pleasure came the occasional hot tot – so why not just have those plain? Tasty would do itself a favor by having its Totchos come out sizzling.
