At the MIAA Division I Track and Field State Championships on Friday and Sunday, Sophia Juanes Seto finished second in the two-mile run with a time of 10:25.22 and third in the one-mile run with a time of 4:58.99. Naomi Baldwin took second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.63), and Neva Hartman was seventh in the one-mile run (5:05.12). The 4×800-meter relay team of Stella Van Praagh, Neelu Trivedi, Nia Raskar and Eden Van Eman placed ninth with a time of 10:11.45.

Boys’ track: Leon Ibanez-Fraile finished seventh in the one-mile run (4:23.29) at the Division I Track and Field State Championships, and Thomas DeWitt took eighth place in the two-mile run (9:27.14). The 4×100-meter relay team of Jermaine Houston, Miel Henry, Laurent Valentin and Matthew Shokoti finished eighth (43.20). Matthew Shokoti placed tenth in the triple jump (42-04.)

Boys’ volleyball: The boys’ volleyball team (11-9), seeded ninth in the MIAA tournament, defeated Lowell Catholic in the round of 32 on Friday, 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-23).  Brennan Loud led the offense with 11 kills, five aces, and eight digs. Owen Murphy tallied 29 assists, Bruce Toledo registered five kills and 13 digs, and Ethan Malamud added 10 digs.

In the round of 16 on Tuesday, Lowell defeated Cambridge, 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-16). Loud led the way with 12 kills, Bruce Toledo recorded 9 kills, Owen Murphy contributed 23 assists.

Girls’ tennis: In the preliminary round of the MIAA tournament on May 27, the 32nd-seeded girls’ tennis team (3-14) defeated Diman Regional Voc-Tech, 4-1. Mia Costa won in three sets at second singles, and Jane Meek had a dominant two-set win at third singles. At first doubles, P.C. Koester and Natalia Naef won in three sets. Amelie Ramos and Avery Fearing dominated in two sets to win at second doubles. On Thursday, the Falcons lost to the top seed, Newton South, 5-0.
