Cambridge’s director of Traffic, Parking & Transportation since 2015, Joe Barr, announced on Monday that he plans to step down to become director of network development for the Eastern United States for Amtrak.

Riverbend Park will again stay open Saturdays as well as Sundays, the state announced Friday – a reversal to a Wednesday announcement that left some questions unanswered.

 The suspension of service on the 68 bus line will end June 20, the MBTA said Monday. The delay of more than two months between the announcement and restoration of service was blamed on a hiring slowdown that has reduced the capacity to respond quickly.
