Central Square’s Floating Rock restaurant opened, struggled and closed in a few short months, but its fallback plan — merging with a Japanese restaurant — looks to outlive it. Yoki has a sign up in place of Floating Rock, and says it’s hiring.

Harvard Square is already due to see The Sinclair, a late-night restaurant and 525-person concert hall, open in the fall. Now a smaller performance venue and restaurant called Liberal Servings is targeted for 13 Brattle St., the heart of the square.
Memorial Drive food truck slots up for (qualified) grabs through March 18
